A Letter to Our Community
From the very beginning, Goblets & Goblins was built on imagination, connection, and community. What started as a whimsical idea, grew into a space filled with laughter, dice rolls, puzzles, themed nights, and friendships we’ll always be grateful for.
Like many restaurants across Canada, we face the same ongoing challenges that come with food service—rising costs, staffing pressures, and other sustainability hurdles. While we genuinely loved serving food, we also had to pause and ask ourselves: What do we do best, where do we make the biggest community impact, and what could be sustainable long-term?
The answer has always been our whimsical space and clubs for adults and children.
Moving forward, our smaller, more intentional spaces across Ontario communities will continue to host events, Dungeons & Dragons games, and whimsical activities of all kinds. These spaces are designed to spark creativity, encourage social connection, and create a sense of belonging—especially for kids and youth building their confidence, creativity, and community through play. This format allows us to be more flexible, more immersive, and aligned with our mission:
To champion the niche, the imaginative, and the delightfully different.
Goblets & Goblins is pivoting away from operating as a restaurant and food service venue so we can focus fully on our clubs, events, and imaginative environments. This means that our location at 17766 Leslie Street will be closing its doors on March 31st, 2026.This shift allows us to operate in a leaner, more sustainable way while staying true to our purpose. Looking ahead, this leaves the door open for a future smaller café or restaurant concept—one that better fits alongside our programs and spaces.
We are incredibly thankful for every meal shared, every event attended, and every friendship formed within these walls. Those moments matter, and they always will. This isn’t an ending—it’s an evolution.
We’re proud to continue as a Newmarket business at our clubs, adult groups and event focused location at 16610 Bayview Ave Unit 206. Our commitment to imagination, belonging, and meaningful play remains stronger than ever.
Thank you for being part of our story so far. We can’t wait to build the next chapter together.
